Tatsuya Murasa, 19-year-old swimmer from Chuo University in Japan, has made a historic achievement by setting a new Japanese national record in the 100m freestyle with a time of 47.83 seconds at the 102nd Japanese Intercollegiate Swimming Championships. The event took place in Osaka, Japan, where Murasa led off the university relay team and delivered a performance beyond expectations. According to competition data, Murasa completed the first 50m in 22.91 seconds and the second 50m in 24.92 seconds, resulting in a 2.01-second difference between the halves. This record not only improves 0.02 seconds over the previous national record of 47.85 seconds by Katsuhiro Matsumoto but also solidifies Murasa's position in Asian sprint freestyle swimming.
